Tax Credit

The recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2010, aka the Stimulus Bill, offers homeowners tax incentives for improving your home’s energy efficiency. Beginning January 1, 2010, the United States Government will be providing up to 30% (up to $1500) back on the cost of any window, door, or vinyl siding upgrades that will reduce energy consumption. The rebate will be in the form of a tax credit, reducing the cost of Affordable Windows already low prices by an additional 30%.

Qualifying for the Tax Credit Program is Simple:

  • Purchase energy efficient qualifying windows/doors from Affordable Windows, and keep your sales receipt as well as the NFRC/ENERGYSTAR labels.
  • Have your windows/doors installed anytime between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010.
  • Using your sales receipt and ENERGYSTAR proof of purchase labels, claim the tax credit on your tax filing for the 2010 tax year.

In order to qualify for the Tax Credit Program, a vinyl replacement window/door must carry a U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) which is less than or equal to 0.30. For more information regarding replacement window/door energy ratings and qualifying products, please visit the ENERGY STAR® website. Be sure to specify to your Affordable Windows salesman that you wish to purchase Affordable Windows Low-E energy efficient windows.
