If your Ahwatukee home is in need of new windows and doors, you have taken the correct first step! At Affordable Windows, you will find quality products that are built to last a lifetime against our harsh desert climate. As an Arizona based company, we understand the unique challenges that our arid, dry desert climate poses to our homes. This is why we only offer replacement windows and doors that are constructed to stand up to the heat. When it comes to quality and value, we strive to offer our Ahwatukee homeowners only the best!
At Affordable Windows, we install custom made windows and patio doors from Simonton Windows, Anlin Windows and Amerimax Windows. Each of these trusted partners offer a variety of styles and options to choose from.
Among the different styles are:
Single Hung Windows – These are vertical sliding windows ( up and down ) in which only the bottom sash operates.
Double Hung Windows– Double Hung windows are similar to single hung windows, but both upper and lower sashes operate.
2 Lite Sliding Windows – These are horizontal sliding windows (side to side) and they are the most common bedroom windows for AZ homes
3 Lite Sliding Windows – This window consists of 3 units, built with 2 Sliding Windows along with a Picture Window stationed between the two sliders.
Awning Windows – These are crank out style units that are hinged at the top of the window frame and can be opened up with a rotating handle.
Casement Windows – These are also crank out windows like the awning windows, but casement windows open from the side rather than the top.
Bay Windows – These windows project outwards from the home, utilizing a seat and headboard with 3 units, typically using a 45 degree angle.
Bow Windows – These are similar to bay windows but these windows are actually angled precisely and are curved, much like a bow used in archery.
Garden Windows – Garden windows are generally used in kitchens to bring in more light and allow space for your plants and herbs to sit right in the window sill.
Picture Windows – Stationary window allowing maximum abundant light into your home.
At Affordable Windows, we also install both steel and fiberglass entry doors for Ahwatukee homeowners. On top of our lovely front entry doors, we also specialize in French Doors and Arcadia Doors.
We offer a large selection from top-rated manufacturers like Therma Tru and Provia. There are thousands of doors to choose from with varieties of styles, glass, color, wood grain textures and hardware options available. All of these doors are energy star certified, which means lower SRP bills for you! A beautifully crafted entry door not only delivers an important first impression about your home to your guests, but it will also leave them with a lasting impression.

Ahwatukee isn’t really a city or town, yet rather a distinct neighborhood within the city of Phoenix but some know it as an urban village. Technically, it is called Ahwatukee Foothills and this neighborhood being rather large has more than 80,000 residents within this neighborhood, along with some of the most highly rated schools in Arizona. The name of this area was believed to be originated from the Crows. In 1935, Hellen Brinton purchased the property and renamed it to Ahwatukee. It was spoken that this translated to “house of dream” in Crow, but as it turns out, the Crow word “ Awechuuke” means on the other side of the hill, which sounds rather logical since the area is located right next to South Mountain. Every year, the Festival of Lights – million light display is held in the heart of the neighborhood from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
