The Style

What a 2-Lite Slider Is

Two panels sit side by side in a single frame. One is fixed, the other glides horizontally on a track, so nothing ever swings out into your patio, walkway, or side yard. It is the workhorse of Arizona replacement windows, and for good reason.

Wide, open views. A single vertical meeting rail instead of a horizontal one keeps sightlines clean.
Nothing swings out. Ideal for tight side yards, patios, and walkways where a crank-out sash would be in the way.
Easy to operate. Smooth-glide rollers and a low sill make it simple to reach, even over a kitchen counter.
Dust control that actually works. Quality weatherstripping plus a correctly designed weep and track system keeps monsoon grit where it belongs.
Specs & Options

Specified for Arizona, Not the Catalog

Every slider we install is specified for desert exposure rather than shipped off a generic spec sheet.

Desert Glass Packages

Low-E coatings with a low SHGC, argon fill, and warm-edge spacers. We target roughly 0.20 to 0.27 SHGC on west and south elevations, where the afternoon heat actually lands.

Frames & Finishes

Vinyl for the best overall value, fiberglass for maximum thermal stability, thermally broken aluminum for wide spans. UV-stable black and bronze finishes available.

Screens & Hardware

Tight-mesh screens for desert gnats, pet-resistant mesh, upgraded rollers and locks, and easy-clean glass that shrugs off hard-water overspray from irrigation.

Quick Answers

2-Lite Slider FAQs

Do sliders let in more dust than other window styles?

Not when the weatherstripping and the weep and track design are right. Poorly built sliders pack grit into the track; properly specified ones do not. We walk you through track care during monsoon season at your final walkthrough.

How wide can a 2-lite slider go?

Wider than most homeowners expect, but there are limits. For very large openings we will either step you up to a 3-lite slider or spec a thermally broken aluminum frame that can carry the extra span without sagging.

Which panel should be the one that slides?

That is your call, and it matters more than people think. We set the operable panel based on your prevailing breeze, your furniture layout, and which side you actually need to reach.

Are black frames safe on a slider in our heat?

Yes, provided you choose UV-stable finishes and thermally efficient frames warranted for high-temperature markets. We only quote dark finishes that are rated for desert exposure.
