The Brand

Who International Is

International builds aluminum and vinyl windows on the West Coast. Aluminum is the reason they are in our lineup. It is far stronger than vinyl, which means the frame can be much thinner for the same span. You end up with more glass, less frame, and a clean modern sightline that vinyl simply cannot produce.

Aluminum spans what vinyl cannot. Strength for size is where aluminum wins. A wide opening that would need a chunky vinyl frame gets a slim one instead.
The Ambassador Series. Their aluminum line and the one we specify most. Thin sightlines, large sizes, and a profile that suits contemporary desert architecture.
The thermal break is everything. Bare aluminum conducts heat straight into the room. A properly thermally broken frame does not. This is the question to ask about any aluminum window in Arizona.
Modern, not traditional. On a contemporary house, aluminum reads correctly in a way vinyl never quite does. On a traditional elevation we will point you somewhere else.

Why We Carry International

Aluminum solves problems vinyl cannot. It also creates one, and we handle that head on.

The Ambassador Series

Aluminum framing with thin sightlines and large available sizes. The line we reach for on contemporary homes and on openings a vinyl frame would have to fatten up to cover.

Thermally Broken Frames

A polymer barrier separating the interior and exterior aluminum, so the frame does not conduct desert heat straight into the room. Aluminum without a thermal break has no business in Arizona.

Large Spans, Big Glass

Aluminum carries more glass in a slimmer frame. Where you want a wall of glass and not a wall of frame, this is the material that actually gets you there.

Questions

Aluminum Window Questions

Is aluminum a bad idea in Arizona heat?

Bare aluminum is, because it conducts heat straight through the frame. Thermally broken aluminum is not, and that is the only kind we install. Ask any aluminum window salesman about the thermal break, and if the answer gets vague, walk away.

Why choose aluminum over vinyl?

Two reasons. Span, because aluminum is far stronger, so a large opening gets a slim frame instead of a fat one. And look, because thin sightlines read as modern in a way vinyl cannot fake.

What is the Ambassador Series?

International's aluminum line, and the one we specify most often. Thin frames, large available sizes, contemporary profile. It is the answer when the architecture is modern and the openings are big.

Does aluminum cost more than vinyl?

Usually. You are paying for span and for sightline. On a standard rectangular opening in a traditional house, vinyl does the same job for less, and we will tell you that rather than sell you up.
